Minecraft News: New Lego sets, Game of Thrones server

Four new Lego Minecraft sets revealed

After a successful first run of six sets, Lego have decided to produce some more Minecraft-themed sets. Four new ones have been revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair: The Snow Hideout, The Desert Outpost, The Nether Fortress, and The Dungeon. They’re all on the smaller side, more like the size of last year’s The Cave rather than The Mine. Each will have the pieces to build the area and a collection of figures including Steve, zombies, and ghasts.

Take a look at them in the photo above, which was taken by photographer Anders Lehmann for Ukonio.de.

WesterosCraft still going strong after four years

Ever since the Game of Thrones TV show kicked off, a group of dedicated Minecrafter’s have been building the whole of the world of Westeros on a server. WesterosCraft is now staffed by 125 fans, all working towards making a perfect recreation of George. R.R. Martin’s fantasy land.

Talking to Kotaku, the project’s lead Jacob Granberry said: “I would say the world is at around 70% completion. We’ve developed a custom launcher for the game that comes packed with our WesterosBlocks mod which includes over 50 new custom blocks and textures specifically made for our server.

“So, we completely repainted our map with new textures, and some of our old builds we are building over bigger, better, and more realistic. That Kings Landing render from a few years ago? Yea, we are remaking that entire city again.”
